Responsibilities

State Farm is looking for a marketing data expert to manage and grow our incremental attribution solutions. This role bridges the technical aspects of measurement and data analytics with the executional and operational side of campaign management, including how campaigns are planned and activated within the buying platforms. In addition to your data work you’ll also be driving technical growth for one of our key DSPs and have the opportunity to dig deeply into how a brand can push the boundaries of cross-channel marketing. You will own the relationship and therefore get to partner across our organization and with multiple world-class media agencies.

Your day will be filled with creative problem solving and a healthy mix of people and data focus. Some days will be heads-down data digging, coding, and verification while other days will be leading cross-departmental (and company) meetings to drive innovative technology with marketing companies at the top of their game. Our team prides itself on a supportive atmosphere that enables everyone to shine in their own unique, independent way and empower people to have each other's backs.

As a Digital Marketing Technical Analyst, you will:

  • Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources (e.g., Google Ads® and other ad platforms, internal systems, etc.).
  • Monitor and ensure data quality, addressing anomalies and discrepancies before sharing with external attribution vendors.
  • Develop and implement automated anomaly detection and validation processes to data quality and accuracy.
  • Understand marketing performance metrics (e.g., impressions, clicks, conversions) and their correlation with KPIs like quote starts, completes, and policy binds.
  • Build and drive a productive relationship with DSP vendors to develop solutions that meet State Farm’s business goals
  • Leverage project management skills to meet objectives within necessary timelines

Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency managing complex data sources, including ETL across multiple sources and intense data verification
  • SQL expertise
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing technologies, media channels (search, email, direct mail, etc.), and their respective performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of media agency operations, including campaign execution and data workflows.
  • Strong grasp of incrementality measurement and attribution principles.
  • Strong project management and prioritization experience
  • Familiarity with incremental attribution modeling (marketing mix modeling and multi-touch attribution)
  • Knowledge of Ad/MarTech concepts and technologies
  • Top-shelf communication and relationship building across multiple levels, including executive

Education

  • B.A. or B.S. in a quantitative field (marketing, business analytics, economics, computer science, finance, etc.) preferred

Experience

  • 3 years of industry experience as Marketing technology / attribution / data expert
