The Dish Machine Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, servicing, and refurbishing various types of ware-washing, dishwashing, and dispensing machines. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Refurbish pre-leased machines according to updated SOP quality standards and schedules.
- Diagnose, repair, and service machines while adhering to ISO procedures and updated safety guidelines.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and document findings in the maintenance log.
- Maintain an organized, compliant workspace, including proper storage of hazardous materials.
- Participate in inventory management, including tracking parts usage and ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Assist with general facility maintenance, such as cleaning, organizing, and equipment upkeep.
- Provide support for training new team members and sharing expertise in troubleshooting.
SKILLS / COMPETENCY
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a focus on ware-washing and dishwashing machines.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, power tools, hand tools, ladders, and material handling equipment (e.g., tow motors).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for accurate reporting and team collaboration.
- Analytical and decision-making skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment failures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
- Commitment to maintaining high-quality workmanship and adhering to process improvement initiatives.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical repair, with a focus on dishwashing or ware-washing systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to work in environments involving chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with ISO compliance standards, preventive maintenance practices, and inventory control processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Certification in Multi-Craft Maintenance (preferred).
EMPLOYEE TRAINING REQUIRED
- Comprehensive new hire orientation.
- Hazard Communication and Right-to-Know training.
- Basic and advanced safety training, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and hazardous material handling.
- ISO9000 and ISO14000 training per the departmental matrix.
- OSHA training (8-hour minimum).
- Updated hazardous spill response training, per SOP revisions.
- Annual SOP review and compliance training.
INTERNAL / EXTERNAL INTERFACE LEVELS
- Collaborate with internal departments, including management, refurbishment teams, and safety personnel.
- Interface with external contractors for facility maintenance and equipment repairs as required.
