What You Will Be Doing

The State of Alaska, Department of Administration, Division of Finance is seeking a skilled SAP Business Objects (BOBJ) Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our ALDER Data Warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in SAP BOBJ WebI development, experience in designing and implementing BI solutions, and the ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders, technical teams and content creators.

The SAP Business Objects BI Developer will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining SAP BI solutions, including semantic layer, reports, dashboards, and other data visualization tools, to support business analytics and decision-making processes;
  • Providing end-user training and support for SAP BI solutions, including troubleshooting and problem-solving;
  • Developing and maintaining SAP Data Services ETL jobs to extract, transform, and load data into SAP BI solutions; and
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of SAP BI tools and technologies to support business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of this experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer information management support specialty.

Substitution:

A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for one year of the required experience. An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.

Special Note:

An applicant who is considered under the Substitution above qualifies to apply for this job class IF the applicable coursework is completed within three (3) months of hire. Under this option, an applicant may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.

Individual positions at each level in this class series may require expertise in a particular area of programming or analysis. Recruitment and selection will be on the basis of these requirements.

For some positions in these job classes, a background investigation including fingerprinting is required.
