Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector 1 (07-4508)

What You Will Be Doing:
Conducts inspections for safe and proper construction, installation, repair, use and operation of boilers and unfired pressure vessels.

Advises contractors, plumbing and heating technicians on the construction, installation, operation, and repair of boilers and unfired pressure vessels.

Completes inspection reports, issues violations, and initiates condemnation proceedings as necessary, subject to higher level review.

Explains laws and regulations related to Boiler and Pressure Vessel inspection function to the public.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is based out of Anchorage, Alaska; our main office is located at 1251 Muldoon Road, Suite 113. You will conduct jurisdictional certificate inspections at commercial facilities and apartment homes of 6 units and above. A State of Alaska vehicle will be used for transportation between the state office and inspection sites.

This position requires frequent overnight travel to remote locations within the state, typically once a month and for no longer than 3 days at a time; travel may consist of travelling in small aircraft, helicopter, train, boats, ferry, ATV or snow machine.

DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIREMENT
Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license. Proof of licensure will be required prior to reporting to duty.

• A list of three (3) professional references, one of which should be your most recent supervisor. This list should include name, job title, employer/company/business and current phone number(s) for contact.
• National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector’s commission or letter from the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector stating that you have passed the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors in-service exam within the last two (2) years.
• A copy of your valid Driver's License.
