The Department of Corrections, Division of Health and Rehabilitation Services, is seeking a Criminal Justice Technician 2, located in the Anchorage Central Office in Anchorage, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing:
The Criminal Justice Technician 2 position, under the supervision of the Reentry Program Manager, will perform a variety of duties that will support the Reentry, Education, and Vocational Services team (REVS). The position will interface and provide direct customer service to reentrants, service providers, and DOC staff that are seeking information and reentry resources. The position will assist staff with processing applications, supporting associated administrative processes, and managing and distributing reentry material, as well as coordinating and collaborating with community partners to facilitate activities in DOC facilities and the REVS office. This position will also assist team members with administrative tasks that support DOC educational and vocational opportunities which may include data tracking, management and reporting; conducting inventories; seeking out information and conducting research; assisting with ordering, receiving, and distribution of materials; and providing general support for new departmental initiatives as needed.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
The REVS team operates in an office located in downtown Anchorage, and in an environment that is collegial and collaborative, that can become fast-paced and deadline driven. While there may be occasional opportunities to visit DOC institutions or meet with stakeholders in the community, most work will be conducted within the office during routine business hours through in-person interactions or via virtual teleconferencing options.

Any combination of education and/or paraprofessional or professional experience or service in criminal justice, juvenile justice, probation, parole, public safety, law enforcement, corrections, court, legal services, law office, social services, social sciences, or public assistance programs or functions.

It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECKS/APSIN/ACOMS

Please be aware – this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN)/Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
