What you will be doing:
Engineer / Architect 1:
In this position, you will serve as a project manager for multiple small, low-complexity projects at the Anchorage International Airport under the close guidance of higher-level Engineers and Architects. You will manage and support projects under $2 million, providing direction on project scope, schedule, and budget. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure project goals are met and report on progress and expenditures. Additionally, you will assist with building permit applications, supervise Engineering Assistants, and provide technical support for future projects and internal staff needs.
Engineer / Architect 2:
In this role, you will serve as a project manager for multiple projects of average complexity at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, administering the Capital Improvement Program with minimal supervision. You will oversee project scope, schedule, and budget for various airport projects, prepare and manage contracts, monitor expenditures, and report on project status. Additionally, you will manage small to medium projects, supervise Engineering Assistants, and support the Airport Building Permits Coordinator. You will also provide technical assistance for future capital projects, internal staff, and make presentations to officials and community groups.

Minimum Qualifications
Engineer/Architect 1
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect.
Note: Positions in this class require professional registration as either an Engineer or an Architect. The employer will designate which professional field is required for each position.
Special Note:
Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b). Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
Engineer/Architect 2Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and one year of professional experience as an Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineering Associate with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent.

This position is flexibly staffed. This vacancy may be filled at either the 1 or 2 level, depending on the applicant's training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at. If filled at Level 1, promotion to the Level 2 will occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training, as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class.
