The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is recruiting for a Fish and Game Program Technician located in Yakutat!

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s mission is to manage, protect, maintain, and improve the fish, game and aquatic plant resources of Alaska. This position contributes to the success of the ADF&G mission by editing and batching fish tickets for in-season harvest tracking, assisting in tracking Sportfish logbook harvest information, collection of biological data used in wildlife management and communicating regularly with fishermen, hunters, processors, other agencies to provide information, answer questions and clarify regulations.

- This position works 37.5 hours weekly, Monday through Friday.
Occasion travel within the State for meetings or training opportunities.

Ability to work independently with adhering to and meeting timeframes that at times may be pressing.
Ability to enter/edit information into state programs such as OceanAk, eVendor, eLandings, WinfoNet and Fish Count Administration.

Special Note:
A valid driver's license is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of office clerical experience or technical experience related to fish, wildlife or habitat resources;
OR
One year of experience providing advanced clerical services based on established procedures, precedents, and policies in administrative, informative, and/or programmatic functions. This experience includes work such as an Office Assistant 2 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.
Substitution:
Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience).
Additional Required Information
- Transcripts if using education to meet minimum qualifications (unofficial copies are acceptable).
- Any current firearm or first aid certification.
- (3) Three Professional references.

EDUCATION
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR FOREIGN EDUCATION
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements, if applicable. If utilizing this education you must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs; or an accredited U.S. state university reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the state university. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence.
