This position is being recruited for in Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla, Fairbanks, or Juneau. 

Pay will be determined based on location of selected individual.

 

Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $31.83

Fairbanks salary: $32.78 

Juneau salary: $33.42

 

What you will be doing: 

Do you want to be a part of the State of Alaska’s efforts to conserve, improve, and protect Alaska’s natural resources and environment to enhance the health, safety, and economic and social well-being of Alaskans? In the role of Grants Administrator 2, you will play a vital part through the administration of grants, loans, and contracts that improve and protect Alaska’s water quality. Grant Administrator 2 tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring grant solicitations and awards comply with required laws, regulations, and policies and providing technical assistance by working directly with Department program staff and grantees.
  • Participating in the drafting of State Revolving Fund Drinking Water and Clean Water loans, routing documents through the approval process, entering information into the State database and filing required Federal reports.  
  • Coordinating with program staff and procurement to initiate contract solicitations, fiscal monitoring of resulting contracts which includes ensuring invoices are coded correctly and payments are issued timely.

Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Grants Administrator 1 with the State of Alaska.

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in 

  • Accounting: Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual, obligations, and costs methods.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
  • Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
  • Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues. 

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting, grants administration, budget administration, procurement, professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.
