The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, Division of Banking and Securities, is recruiting for a Program Coordinator 1 located in Juneau!
What you will be doing:The Program Coordinator 1 is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily and ongoing operations of all licensing and registration programs for the Division of Banking and Securities (DBS). The Division Operations Manager supervises the Program Coordinator 1 coordinate and carry out the program activities and functions and develop effective and efficient licensing policies and services.
- Assists with developing and implementing program procedures and practices and the methods and standards to guide and train program staff.
- Supervising, coordinating, and overseeing the daily operations of the state-wide financial licensing and registration programs, each with its own unique licensing and registration requirements. This includes banking, securities, money transmission, mortgage, and small loan operators.
- Work with division management and stakeholders on special projects and assignments supporting legislation, statewide initiatives, development of division resources, and other needs.
- Provide clear and concise representations of Alaska Statutes and Regulations, Federal and other state laws, to the public, staff, division leadership, legislators and other stake holders.
- Handle the section’s initial investigations of unlicensed practices and collaborating with the Chief of Enforcement on other actions to be taken. This includes drafting orders, license denials, legal questions, requests for disciplinary actions, offering guidance on other division cases, multi-state cases, testifying in Office of Administrative Hearings cases, and working with other state and federal agencies to bring cases to a successful conclusion and support compliance. Research, explain, and justify actions taken by the program in granting or denying licensure.

This PCN is located in Juneau, Alaska where the licensing team is. The incumbent will have a spacious cubical on the 9th floor with a beautiful view of the mountains, and a parking pass for the covered parking garage off Willoughby Ave.
