Is recruiting for a Long Term Non Permanent Public Health Data Analyst located in Juneau!
What you will be doing :
Working in this position, the incumbent will perform a wide variety of duties to support the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), the state's controlled substance prescription database. This position will assist the Program Coordinator with producing reports to share with program stakeholders, licensing boards, and for supporting the Opioid Data Dashboard as managed by partners at Department of Health. The Data Analyst will generate meaningful analyses of PDMP data to assist the division in sharing data with our partners and the public. The position will be expected to assist with responding to data requests, email, and other duties as assigned.
The incumbent will be expected to understand all applicable statutes and regulations governing the PDMP and requirements imposed on affected licensees.

The official duty station is located in our main office in on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in Juneau. Our office has updated furnishings and is centrally located in downtown Juneau.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of journey or full performance level professional experience providing any combination of public health-related clinical and / or technical research, consultation and advisory services, and / or data system design and implementation, which included significant responsibility for conducting surveillance, data collection, and statistical analysis, evaluating research data, and report preparation. Service as an Analyst / Programmer, Research Analyst, or similar job class may qualify if the work performed was specifically related to the collection, analysis, and maintenance of data concerning conditions of public health importance, such as incidence / prevalence of disease or injuries, social risk factors, behavioral risk factors, environmental risk factors, and / or demographic characteristics.
Four years of journey or full performance level professional experience providing any combination of public health-related clinical and / or technical research, consultation and advisory services, and / or data system design and implementation, which included significant responsibility for conducting surveillance, data collection, and statistical analysis, evaluating research data, and report preparation. The social sciences include anthropology, economics, sociology, history, political science, geography, psychology, and demography. The biological sciences include botany, biology, entomology, ecology, forestry, and zoology. The physical sciences include chemistry, physics, astronomy, geology, and soil science.
Incumbents must abide by Public Law 104-191 Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and Alaska Statutes and Alaska Administrative Codes as identified by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services of Alaska State Health Law Matrix.
