What You Will Be Doing:
Are you ready to make a big difference in public health? Join the section of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDPHP) team supporting injury prevention initiatives and data collection of the Violent Death Reporting System (AKVDRS) and the State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS). In this role, you will get to combine a passion for data and prevention through:- Implementing a public health approach to reduce injuries in Alaska, such as transportation-related injuries, falls, drowning, poisoning, firearm-related injuries, and other injury areas of interest.
- Engaging with community stakeholders, healthcare providers, and public health officials to promote program goals and enhance public awareness about injuries and violence.
- Working cooperatively with municipal, state, and federal (core) partners to maintain access to electronic data and other `hard copy` information pertaining to violent injury, death, and victim-related information from proprietary databases and other data sources (such as law enforcement reports, forensic and toxicology reports, etc.) as identified in the AKVDRS/SUDORS project objectives.
- Assessing data collection processes and data accuracy for quality improvements
