About the Job

This seasonal part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Sport Fish. As a Fish and Wildlife Technician 3, you will be based in Petersburg and play a key role in supporting our conservation efforts.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team. As a Fish and Wildlife Technician 3, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including fieldwork, data collection, and laboratory analyses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in field surveys and monitoring programs to track wildlife populations and habitats;
  • Conduct laboratory analyses and quality control checks;
  • Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets for data management;
  • Communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders and team members;
  • Assist with research projects and studies.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and relevant technical experience;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
