The Student Conservation Association is hiring a Wildlife Habitat Management Assistant to join our team in Skagway, AK. This 19-week position offers the opportunity to work in a beautiful national park while contributing to critical conservation efforts.
Job Description
This role is focused on stopping the spread of invasive species in Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and supporting healthy ecosystems. You will work with a small field crew to conduct surveys, collect data, and implement removal methods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct habitat assessments and identify areas for restoration
- Develop and implement removal plans for invasive species
- Collaborate with community partners and volunteers to achieve conservation goals
Qualifications:
- Personal, work, or academic knowledge related to wildlife habitat management or conservation biology
- Competency using Microsoft Word and Excel programs, and general computer literacy
- Ability to work in close quarters with coworkers and adapt to changing situations
Benefits:
- $350/week living allowance
- $1,500 one-time roundtrip travel allowance
