Job Summary:
Performs work corresponding to the activities within the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, Bureau of Medical Facilities Licensing. Assists with or determines the issuing of licenses to licensed facilities and providers, maintaining current licenses by ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Assists with or conducts initial and annual recertification/compliance inspections of healthcare institutions regulated by the Department to determine compliance with all applicable regulations. Oversee and/or review quality systems by tracking documents, corrective actions, and other quality data. Assists with or conducts advanced-level investigations of the operation of a licensed facility or provider upon receiving a complaint or of an unlicensed facility. Performing services that need regulation. Corresponds with the regulated community or with regulatory bodies, responds to technical questions from licensees, develops standards, and participates in rulemaking. Performs, assists, or reviews detailed investigative or inspection reports, statements of deficiencies, and correspondence regarding changes in the status of a licensee’s license, or other types of legal orders. Schedule and/or ensure inspections are performed according to regulatory timeframes. Participates in and/or leads staff, advisory
committee, and/or stakeholder organization meetings. Provides technical assistance to providers and consumers. Requests/analyzes/ oversees/responds to feedback from clients on services. Develops standard and ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards, and other
performance-related metrics. Oversees training programs for new employees. Generates training materials and gives presentations to internal/external stakeholders as assigned. Supervises, directs, and provides advice and guidance to lower-level workers.
Job Duties
Manage and direct subordinate staff (work assignments, setting priorities, hiring, discipline, providing training, approving leave requests, and preparing evaluations).
Assists with or determines the issuing of licenses to licensed facilities and providers, maintaining current licenses by ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Assists with or conducts initial and annual recertification/compliance inspections of healthcare institutions regulated by the Department to determine compliance with all applicable regulations.
Assists with or conducts advanced level investigations of the Corresponds with the regulated community or with regulatory bodies, responds to technical questions from
licensees, develop standards, and participate in rulemaking.
Provides technical assistance to providers and consumers.
Participates in and/or leads staff, advisory committee, and/or stakeholder organization meetings.
Requests/analyzes/oversees/responds to feedback from clients on services. Oversees training program for new Oversee and/or review of quality systems by tracking documents, corrective actions, and other quality data.

Min. of Bachelor’s degree and 3 yrs exp as a surveyor/compliance officer OR Bachelor’s degree and 3 yrs exp in management or project management, or similar exp. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a professional license to practice in the State of AZ or proof of eligibility for reciprocity of an out-of-state license, i.e., RN, Social Worker, Dietitian, Counselor, etc.
Pre-Employment Requirements
fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to A.R.S. 41-1758.07 or must apply for a level one fingerprint clearance card within 7 working days after beginning employment. Must
obtain within 2 years of hire: CLEAR-Basic-National Certified Investigator and Inspector Training Certificate and CLEAR-Specialized- National Certified Investigator and Inspector Training Certificate.

Retirement
- To help you build a financially secure future, the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will make a contribution to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution. In other words, you and the State will each pay 50% of the total cost of the benefit.
