Job Summary
- The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) can expect to play an active role in a wide range of work assignments around the successful completion of technology tasks from start to finish.
- The primary objective is helping business areas implement technology solutions that are both cost-effective and meet the relevant business requirements and communicating clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners.
- This role will be to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions they need.
- The TBA will apply proven communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills to help the business make good technology decisions.
- Rare in-state and out-of-state travel may be required for this position.
Job Duties
Stakeholder communication:
- Help businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings and discussions to gather feedback and ensure alignment.
- Requirements gathering and analysis: Elicit, analyze, document, and communicate complex functional and technical requirements across systems and business domains using ADE IT specified formats to ensure continuity of requirement documents across projects.
- Prepare business process maps, high-level work flows, use cases, functional specifications, wireframes, process flow diagrams, identify/suggest feature requirements, develop user stories, and report mock-ups.
- Identify business processes for redesign.
- Determine how to improve existing business process.
- Identify modifications to automated processes.
- Develop Agile Product Backlog items for presentation to development teams and business owners including appropriate assumptions, acceptance criteria, user/system details, and non-functional requirements, as well as facilitate backlog grooming and sprint planning meetings.
- Understand the integration of processes across domains, scope, charter, and plans.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Strong knowledge, skill, and experience associated with analysis of business processes of IT system applications, including system design and implementation in a full life cycle project development arena
- Strong experience in eliciting, detailing, documenting, and validating requirements
- Strong understanding of lean methodologies like Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall
- Gather complex requirements across systems and business domains using specified formats to ensure continuity of requirement documents across projects
- Proficiency in facilitating backlog grooming and sprint planning
- Experience working on an Agile/Scrum team/environment
- Experience gathering requirements for API rules
- How to read and/or write basic SQL statements
- Relational databases and database structures
- Develop and maintain Agile Product Backlog items for presentation to development teams and business owners including appropriate assumptions, acceptance criteria, user/system details, and non-functional requirements
- Experience generating requirements from business units using business requirement documents
- Process improvement, workflow, benchmarking, and/or evaluation of business processes required
- Experience with analytical, research, and statistical methods
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or five years experience in business analysis to substitute for the degree, is required.
- Applicants must have a minimum of three years experience in scrum/agile environments.

- Scrum certification and/or IIBA certification
