Serves as the chief and highest-level legal advisor to the Federal Receiver appointed by the United States District Court in the case of Plata v. Brown, working in conjunction with the balance of the Executive Staff of the California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) regarding the most sensitive and complex legal matters related to the development and implementation of a valid, new and sustainable system that provides constitutionally-adequate health care to incarcerated patients housed inside and outside California. The Director and Chief Counsel leads a staff of multi-disciplinary professionals in the legal office, including attorneys.

Special Requirements
