Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Planning and Climate Policy, the Federal Grant Administrator plays a key role in the State, serving as a primary point of contact for information on federal grants related to community, economic, and local development. The Federal Grant Administrator serves as a connector, coordinating and managing federal grant opportunities within the State. Additionally, the Federal Grant Administrator maintains information on LCI's website regarding federal grants and prepares an annual summary of federal grant funding received by the State that includes, among other performance metrics, the total federal dollars received by the State through federal grants during the report year.
This is a professional classification characterized by the responsibility for performing analytical and administrative supportive tasks. Incumbents are expected to possess an understanding of the supportive services such as budgeting, governmental functions and organizations; and provide critical contributions to the various programs. They are required to be able to reason logically and use a variety of analytical techniques to resolve the less complex issues; develop and evaluate alternatives; schedule, prepare materials for, participate in, and prepare summaries of federal grant funding. Employees in this class regularly carry out responsibilities utilizing independent decision-making and judgment.
This position requires the incumbent to maintain consistent and regular attendance, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to specific tasks, complete assignments in a timely manner, and adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance and conduct.

Working Conditions
Persons appointed to this position must be reasonably expected to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move object up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects with or without reasonable accommodation. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Occasional / overnight travel up to 5% may be required.

The Governor's Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation (LCI) serves the Governor and his Cabinet as staff for long-range planning and research and constitutes the comprehensive state planning agency.
