Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least one (1) Permanent / Full time appointment to the Standards Compliance Director position in the classification of Staff Services Manager II. The position under the general supervision of the Assistant Executive Director has full management and supervisory responsibility of the Standards Compliance Department. Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday 0800 to 1630 except for State Holidays with a combination of on-site and remote work. However, schedules are subject to change based on operational needs.
Under the direction of the Assistant Executive Director, the Standards Compliance Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and supervising the Standards Compliance Department, ensuring compliance with (Title 22) licensing regulations, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards for Hospital Accreditation, Performance Improvement, and Data and Risk Management; contributes to the development of hospital policies and participates in the strategic planning process; demonstrates knowledge of laws, rules, regulations and standards governing the operation of state hospitals, department and hospital policies, procedures and principles of assessment, evaluation, report writing, and effective communication; participates in the planning, development and implementation of treatment programs for mentally disordered offenders; provides consultation to the executive members and serves as a liaison with various programs, disciplines, and departments; exercises functional supervision of both administrative and nursing staff within the department; supports a safe, healthy, and productive work environment and Equal Employment Opportunities and performs other related work.
The successful candidate must be able to interpret and apply the rules and requirements from Title 22, The Joint Commission, State Licensing, CalHR, Department of General Services, Department of Finance, State Controller's Office, and any other regulatory agencies; to have in-depth understanding of governmental practices, principles, methods, and processes; to analyze data and draw sound conclusions; to prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive reports; to effectively communicate technical data, facts, and opinions orally and in writing; to observe strict and tight project timelines; to work independently; and to display objective and sympathetic understanding of the mentally and emotionally disturbed; and to demonstrate open-mindedness, tact, flexibility, accountability, integrity, and composure under stressful situations. In addition, the candidate shall possess knowledge of the principles of business management including office methods and procedures; electronic data processing equipment and methods; and commonly used office materials / equipment. Proficiency in office computer applications (ex : MS Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) is a must.

Working Conditions
Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
