Department Information

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has four major operational divisions: Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, and Veterans Affairs. These divisions utilize state and federal resources to provide our communities, State and nation with a ready military force for national defense and State emergency response as well as providing assistance to our Colorado Veterans.

Description of Job

The Division of Veterans Affairs exists to advocate and administer state veterans benefits within the state of Colorado arising from military service.

This position coordinates the Military Funeral Honors Stipend Program. Specific duties include but are not limited to:


  • collecting applications and reviewing for eligibility and payment value;
  • entering data to create invoices and tracking and maintaining statistical data;
  • submitting invoices to accounting and reconciling discrepancies;
  • providing regular reports on expenditures;
  • conducting outreach and raising program awareness across the veteran agencies;
  • assisting in the grant application process;
  • preparing grant documents for grant review; and
  • assisting grants manager with research and technical support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only: One (1) year of relevant experience performing or supporting grants administration or supporting federal or state of Colorado grant funds. This experience must have included reviewing applications for eligibility and providing technical support to applicants.

Substitutions:

Education from an accredited institution in Business Administration, or a related field as determined by the department. Please attach your unofficial transcript to your on-line application.
