EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Policy Coordinator serves as the facility policy coordinator to plan, organize, and direct the facility self-inspection program to bring into and monitor facility policies to ensure compliance. Manages the accreditation process and conducts audits of facility operations by analysis, visual inspection practice to facility policy, and makes recommendations. Advises management on facility policy matters concerning IA's. Collects, compiles, drafts, and analyzes information, collaborates with supervisors and recommends plans of action to meet standards. Reviews and makes revisions and/or proposes changes to policies and procedures. Exchanges information regarding policies and administrative regulations, on behalf of the Warden to the staff.Primary job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Functions as policy coordinator by verifying and identifying facility the need for operational memorandum meetings, setting committee reviews with management, publishing and distributing draft and final documents; Ensures compliance with standards, departmental regulations and applicable State and federal laws within these documents; Speaks of the importance of standard compliance in facility policy decisions; Manages facilities policies and procedures by reviewing, revising and recommending changes to management, CDOC directives, and facility standard policy guidelines and applicable laws; Receives new departmental regulations, distributes to management team and other offices of record; coordinates staff to write procedures to implement regulations into practice at the facility level; Interpret and explain facility operations policies, procedures, standards, and Administrative Regulations (AR's);Exchanging information and/or guiding to resolve issues with policies, procedure, standards and Administrative Regulations;Audits correctional facility operations to determine compliance with standards, departmental regulations, facility procedures and applicable laws; Interprets standards and analyze existing policies and procedures to determine if the facility is in compliance;Recommends to facility management the need for plans of action and facility policy changes to meet standard; . Maintains files; coordinates and ensures completion of facility inspections; Acts as AVCF Hearings Officer as needed;Other duties as assigned.
