About the Work Unit
The Office of Community Corrections (OCC) is statutorily authorized to provide funding, regulation, and technical assistance to community corrections providers and boards throughout the State of Colorado. CRS 17-27-108 requires the OCC to administer and execute all contracts with units of local government, community corrections boards, or nongovernmental agencies for the provision of community corrections programs and services. The statute also authorizes the OCC to establish, enforce, and audit compliance with professional standards for community corrections programs operated by units of local government or nongovernmental agencies. Colorado state statute also requires the OCC to provide technical assistance to community corrections boards, community corrections programs, and referring agencies in the interest of compliance and system improvement.
About the Job
This position oversees the corrective action process. This includes tracking corrective actions issued, working with boards and programs from issuance to closure, analyzing trend data, and identifying technical assistance or resource needs of the programs and boards. This position assists the audit and evaluation teams with field work when needed. This position supervises the community corrections boards' contract compliance, which includes ensuring compliance for reporting and contract requirements, and identifying technical assistance needs. This position manages the complaints and critical incident processes. This includes working with boards and programs from receipt to closure, analyzing trend data, and identifying technical assistance or resource needs of the programs and boards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position designs and leads strategies, systems and processes for corrective action reports, resulting from audit and evaluation outcomes, from issuance to closure. This includes creating tracking methods for each corrective action issued; working with the community corrections boards and programs to assess areas of needed training or technical assistance; identifying and providing, or arranging for, the appropriate resources to meet those needs; holding the community corrections board or program accountable for meeting corrective action plans; and following each corrective action to closure. This position captures and analyzes corrective action trend data to assess statewide training and technical assistance needs. This requires some travel throughout the State of Colorado to provide technical assistance to boards and programs and confirmation of corrective action completion.
This position supervises the community corrections boards' compliance to their master contract and exhibits. This includes managing boards' annual reporting requirements; providing individual feedback to boards on their adherence to contract requirements; holding boards accountable for meeting their requirements; and identifying and providing, or arranging for, the appropriate resources to support boards when needed. Overseeing compliance also requires the development and implementation of a corrective action process that may be necessary for boards who do not meet contract requirements.
This position will assist the audit and evaluation teams with field work when required, serving as a support member of a formal team for the execution, adaptation and improvement of a formal evidence-based practices program evaluation process and the Colorado Community Corrections Standards program audit process for community corrections programs. This requires knowledge of evidence-based practices, Colorado Community Corrections Standards and effective evaluation / audit practices, as well as collecting feedback to make recommendations for continuous quality improvement. This position will also consult with the audit / evaluation team lead on identifying appropriate responses for non-compliance.
This position manages the complaints and critical incidents process. This includes monitoring receipt of a complaint or critical incident; communicating such receipt to the board and / or program; working with the community corrections boards and programs to assess areas of needed support, training or technical assistance; identifying and providing, or arranging for, the appropriate resources to meet those needs; holding the community corrections board or program accountable for addressing the complaint or critical incident in a timely manner; following up as necessary to ensure closure or completion of each complaint or critical incident; and analyzing complaint and critical incident trend data to identify statewide training and technical assistance needs. This position also oversees and ensures statutory reporting requirements for drug overdose and deaths.
This position utilizes project management skills to more efficiently and effectively manage current processes and identify opportunities to implement new and innovative solutions to fill gaps and inefficiencies. These efforts should support internal strategic plans, improve our accessibility for and relationships with stakeholders, and advance the community corrections system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Seven (7) years of performance auditing and / or contract compliance experience in community-based corrections or related field.
Bachelor's degree in any field and 3 (three) years of performance auditing and / or contract compliance experience in community-based corrections or related field.
