Roxborough State Park: With close to 4000-acres, Roxborough State Park is filled with dramatic red-rock formations, distinct plant communities, and a variety of wildlife ranging from black bears to mule deer. Enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, trail running, photography, bird watching, or one of our many programs and events.
Park Ranger: EMPLOYMENT STARTS 04/09/2025 Seasonal Park Rangers educate the public and patrol our State Parks. They perform a wide variety of jobs, and most work is conducted outside in all seasons and weather conditions. Park Rangers work where everyone comes to play! They wear many hats because of the diversity of the state’s geography, visitors, and recreational opportunities. These hats vary from patrol in vehicles, ATVs or on foot to doing educational programs, maintenance and administrative work. This is an unarmed law enforcement position (Title 33 Commission) that enforces park laws and regulations. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Park Ranger INTERN: 02/15/2025 or when filled This position is funded in part by the Youth Internship Program and as an Intern you will be working in a variety of settings and department sections to get an in depth view of what you can expect from different full time staff positions with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. INTERN Specific Requirements: You must be a current student, a recent graduate (within 3 years) or recently made a career change to a field related to this position. School schedules may be accommodated. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a current & valid driver’s license required for operating a state vehicle.
- The work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense.
- Applicants must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
- Must be free of felony convictions or pending charges. Consideration will be given to all other previous violations of law, including misdemeanor violations, domestic violence, traffic and conservation laws
- Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be available to work varied shifts
- Must have or be able to attain valid current First Aid and CPR certifications
- Must attend and successfully complete required Colorado State Park training (may include full exposure to OC spray).
- Preference may be given to applicants with or working towards a Natural Resources degree or similar education.
- Previous experience handling money and working with the public preferred.
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service.
- Basic computer skills required (MS Office Suite, Google App Suite)
- Ability to work with limited supervision and work well within a team.
- Must be willing and able to climb in and out of vessels/vehicles and under trailers to perform job functions.
- Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during the course of a workday.
