- Full Time, 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day.
- Seasonal role with anticipated start date in May 2025, and ending by August 31, 2025.
- Monday-Friday, First Shift.
- Location: Newington, CT.
- Hybrid schedule may be available.
- Utilizing available software (FME, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, PowerAutomate, etc.) to build and adjust sustainable Extract Transform and Load processes to break down data siloes and connect authoritative systems.
- Utilizing GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, QGIS, etc.) to develop authoritative geospatial datasets and web/desktop tools for internal stakeholders to manage, update, analyze, and make accessible critical infrastructure and business data to necessary stakeholders and partners.
- Utilizing geospatially accurate linear referencing system (LRS) data in a geospatial data management environment for QA/QC, analysis, and management purposes.
- Examining data sets and processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and completeness.
- Offering recommendations to asset data stewards for integration opportunities and championing the innovative benefits of utilizing a centralized GIS warehouse by connecting previously disparate systems.
- Supporting data owners, custodians, and stewards in building automated processes and interactive user interfaces for creating dynamic reports that support analysis and performance assessment.
- Working collaboratively across multiple disciplines and levels to provide access and tools to the Department and the public.
- In concert with the DOT business analysis team, identifies data gaps in work flows and work to develop integrated technology solutions to address those gaps.
- Gaining knowledge of and extract data from multiple sources and systems while working to identify and catalogue all appropriate data sources in the agency.
- Participating in teams reviewing the readiness of data sets for maturation of data through its lifecycle and integration into enterprise available solutions.
- Contributing to technical teams in the development, deployment and application of predictive, prescriptive, descriptive, inferential and diagnostic analytics.
- Researching, analyzing, and building a broad understanding of CTDOT Transportation operations and the challenges and policy concerns that face the agency.
- Aiding in data development efforts throughout the entire lifecycle of a data assets, including: helping to build initial data inventories through digitization, populating attribute data, modifying schemas, documenting business requirements for data assets, publishing versioned editable web services, building editing web solutions, and automating QA/QC processes for data accuracy and completeness.
- Performing other related duties as required.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class performs tasks and duties of a seasonal nature by providing services to clients or the public.
Work areas covered by this class shall include the assignments and hourly rates as listed below:

Minimum and maximum hourly rates will be subject to the following criteria:
- Returning Seasonal Workers may receive $.50 an hour additional compensation for each season of service up to the maximum hourly rate.
OR
- Experienced workers in the specific functional area with another employer may be credited with such time on an equivalent basis to seasons worked and granted the same additional compensation up to the maximum hourly rate.
- Undergraduate or graduate students may be granted additional compensation of up to $.50 more per hour (up to the maximum hourly rate) for each full year of completed education on the basis of 30 semester hours equaling one (1) year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic history that demonstrates an interest regarding geography, geospatial information systems, data science, environmental science, computer science, computer aided design, remote sensing, or machine learning.
- Grade point average of 3.0 or higher in data science, environmental science, computer science, engineering, or geographic information systems related courses.
- Experience or training in data management, geographic information systems or linear referencing systems, through course work, internships or training.
- Interpersonal skills, oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience through coursework or internships with Esri’s ArcGIS Suite (e.g. ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Online, ModelBuilder, etc.), Microsoft 365, FME, QGIS or related computer software.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Incumbents in this class assigned to recreational activities must be able to perform emergency first aid as needed and certain positions will require a current Standard First Aid Certificate.
- Incumbents in this class assigned as bus drivers or operators of a motor vehicle must possess and retain a current Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator License to drive a bus and/or a Motor Vehicle Operators License as necessary.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
