Introduction

Before the pond existed, St. Georges Creek flowed through the hardwood forest and was the site of several Native American hunting camps. The creek was dammed in the early 1800's when the C & D canal was built. Water from the pond was used to fill the locks of the canal and power a small mill. Summary Statement

A variety of seasonal park positions may be available at Lums Pond State Park, which may include the following: �Campground�Registrar�–�($13.75) responsible for all aspects of camp registration, database entry and all aspects of camp store operations; point-of-sale cash register duty, stocking shelves. Revenue Supervisor/Assit. Boat House Mgr.: ($15.50) - oversee all aspects within the Lums Pond State Park revenue areas/Boat Rental Facility.� �Revenue Attendant (Fee Collector)�– ($13.75) responsible for welcoming park visitors, disseminating information, and collecting and accounting for park entrance fees. �Maintenance Grounds - ($14.00)�responsible for assisting maintenance staff with all aspects of maintaining the park grounds and its facilities. �Boathouse Attendant�-�($13.75)�responsible for operating and maintaining the functions of the boat rental facility for the public, including handling money and record keeping. �Office/Admin Support Staff - ($13.75)�will sell park permits, provide customer service by explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, needs and complaints, and providing information about the park and surrounding areas.� Administrative Assistant – ($14.00) year-round position responsible for office operations. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Applicants must be available to work weekends, evenings and holidays as scheduled.

Essential Functions

Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here. �May collect appropriate rental fees. �May register campers into computer database and generate reports as needed. �Provide excellent customer service and park information to visitors. �Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills. �Must be able to work independently. �Duties will vary for each position. �Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Applicants for all positions must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Campground Registrar/Office/Admin Support Staff/ Administrative Assistant 1.�����Six months customer service experience. 2.�����Six months experience in cash handling and writing receipts. 3.�����Six months experience in standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases. Revenue Attendant�(Fee Collector)/Boathouse Attendant 1.�����Knowledge of working with money and making change. 2.�����Knowledge of math such as addition and subtraction. 3.�����Knowledge of customer service. Maintenance Grounds 1.�����Must be at least 18 years of age. 2.� �Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools Revenue Supervisor/Assit. Boat House Manager 1.���� Six-month experience in interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures 2.���� Six-months experience of supervising staff or volunteers. 3.���� Six-month experience in office operations and functions such as operating office machines, answering phones. 4.���� Six-month experience in cash handling, writing receipts.
