Summary Statement
Position assists the Retail Sales Program Manager/Coordinator for the Delaware State Parks Retail Program. This would include merchandising, procurement and inventory management for all retail products for campground stores, nature stores and retail locations within state parks. Position assists in training of park staff selling retail products using Point of Sale (POS). Update and process POS functions. Ability to analyze and respond to market trends in retail products for state park visitors is critical; work with Division Marketing team on sales initiatives. Meet with vendors to evaluate quality and pricing for purchase. Must be able to travel throughout the State and to tradeshows/events as key representative/operator of DE State Parks Traveling Retail Store (this includes logistics and transportation of a 23’ Airstream Flying Cloud travel trailer).
Essential Functions

- All functions of POS for retail sales operations.
- Invoice processing, inventory loads and file maintenance
- Order retail merchandise for sale.
- Conduct retail inventory and audits.
- Train staff in retail functions/operations.
- Process purchase orders, credit card transactions and logs for expenditures; adhere to budget.
- Assist with retail marketing; merchandising of inventory for best sales practices.
- Responsible for managing cash drawers and end of day sales reconciliations.
- Assist in new store start-up’s.
- Responsible for Delaware State Parks traveling retail store operations (requires travel this includes logistics and transportation of a 23’ Airstream Flying Cloud travel trailer).
- Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
1. Six months experience in conducting studies or performing analysis on sales projections and market trends.
2. Six months experience in retail procurement.
3. Six months experience in inventory management.
4. One year experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
5. Possession of a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
