Summary Statement
This position supervises the Genomic Laboratory which performs cross-cutting laboratory services utilizing next generation sequencing technologies to produce actionable public health bioinformatic and epidemiological data. Position ensures compliance with federal and state regulations; Laboratory Response Network (LRN) preparedness standards through method validation; adherence to QC practices and CDC algorithms. Responsibilities include procedure review, inventory monitoring, technical staff training, and handling infectious specimens requiring advanced training in biosafety processes.

- Plans, organizes and supervises professional and technical staff.

- Assigns, oversees and reviews analytical work conducted by staff.
- Ensures all work is completed according to various state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
- Prepares activity and / or statistical reports.
