Each of the more than 500 staff who work in the Office of the Attorney General are dedicated to serving all Delawareans with integrity and passion.
Deputy Attorneys General, with critical support from criminal special investigators, victim service specialists, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff, prosecute criminal cases, enforce consumer laws, provide counsel to state agencies, ensure the public's access to open government, protect the abused, and much more.

Essential Functions
This position involves a high volume of activity and requires delivering professional, courteous, and exceptional customer service to both internal and external callers and visitors of the DOJ. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing visitors and callers to the appropriate DOJ staff, greeting the public in person, and managing telephone communications. Additional tasks include handling incoming mail, facsimiles, and special deliveries, as well as ensuring timely processing and distribution of mail, packages, and deliveries (e.g., UPS, FedEx). Administrative duties include typing, filing, data entry, copying, collating documents, and supporting special projects as assigned. The primary work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.

The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, dependable, and possess strong time management skills to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent telecommunication skills, including listening, speaking, and taking accurate messages, are essential. The candidate should maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while calmly addressing concerns, researching issues, and directing them to the appropriate parties for resolution. Organizational skills are critical, along with the ability to keep the main reception area orderly and neat. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook), as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and proofreading, are required. A working knowledge of professional reception practices and procedures is also necessary.
