Summary Statement
These summer YCC positions may be available : Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Member : $15.00 - Multiple summer youth employment positions for young people aged 14 – 21 years of age with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Parks and Recreation. Positions available on Field Teams working in each of the three counties, and individual park placements in one of the 17 DE State Parks statewide. All members complete park-based projects that impact visitor experience and conservation and trail projects throughout state parks in the team’s region. All positions are seasonal positions working up to 28 hours per week for 6 weeks, June 16, 2025 – July 25, 2025. The mission of the Delaware State Parks YCC is to engage youth in important conservation and park projects while providing learning that fosters teamwork, self-esteem, social responsibility, and respect for the environment. YCC Core components include :
- Practical job work experience.
- Environmental education and experiences.
- Job and / or college preparation. Consideration will also be given to students who are unable to adhere to these dates because of snow days and school schedule in June.

This posting may be closed on or before 4 / 11 / 2025 upon filling the vacant positions. This is a Casual / Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and / or other benefits. Work shirts, protective equipment and tools will be provided. Transportation from base site to work area will be provided.

Criminal background check : A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire. Upon a conditional offer, the applicant must undergo a pre-employment base line two step tuberculin skin test (TST) as part of the hiring process. (Zoo position only)
