POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Criminal Justice Information Services reporting to the Crime Information Bureau under the Criminal History Record Maintenance (CHRM) section. This is a full-time position under the direct supervision of the Operations and Management Consultant Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for performing criminal history queries in multiple criminal justice information systems to properly assist the customer. This position is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Scanning paper documentation into electronic filing systems;
  • Managing shared email inboxes and distributing requests to proper staff;
  • Receiving routes or handling telephone calls in accordance with defined guidelines;
  • Identifying deficient criminal history requests and forwarding to appropriate administrative staff members for processing;
  • Gathering fingerprint cards or microfilm images needed for research purposes;
  • Sorting and assigning incoming requests for processing as outlines in the Criminal History Record Maintenance operations manual;
  • Maintaining logs according to CHRM operations manual; and
  • Maintaining security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices;
  • Ability to record, collect, evaluates, and analyzes data;
  • Ability to organize files, records and/or other materials;
  • Ability to sort data alphabetically, numerically, and categorically;
  • Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data;
  • Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness;
  • Ability to read and interpret state statutes;
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; and
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

BASE SALARY:

  • $ 39,140.00

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant’s immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting.  This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.

 

NOTES:

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
