Starting Salary:  $2, 231.57 Bi-weekly. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher.)

DESCRIPTION:

This position serves as the Director of the Office of Fidelity, Accountability, and Support (FAS). This position will be responsible for motivating, training, and evaluating employees and planning and directing employees’ work. This position will direct and supervise the activities of the FAS staff, develop plans and materials for training, oversee and plan assessment fidelity monitoring, and develop policy manuals and procedures to guide staff in provision of technical assistance on-site.

 

Serves as the department's Risk Assessment Coordinator overseeing the policies, procedures, and on-going sustainability of the Prevention Assessment Tool, Community Positive Achievement Change Tool, and Residential Positive Achievement Change Tool, and associated applications.

 

Supervises the agency’s Standardized Program Evaluation Protocol (SPEP) Coordinator overseeing the policies, procedures, training, and on-going sustainability of the SPEP. Uses the SPEP as an evaluation tool that identifies shortcomings in current juvenile programs, and provides guidelines for improvement to optimize intervention effectiveness and positive outcomes statewide. 

 

Monitor the state of the art of delinquency treatment and apply this knowledge to department practices.  Provide leadership to introduce and implement evidence-based treatments and practices within each program area and benefiting the entire Department.

 

Provide or broker technical assistance services or training to address problems or deficiencies, leveraging the resources and capacity of the Department. Monitor progress in implementation of the plan, including the quality of any specific treatments or practices in terms of adherence to the model and quality of service. 

 

Communicate, plan and work in conjunction with Headquarters and Regional staff, contract managers, and quality improvement staff associated with program improvement initiatives, and others concerning progress with programs receiving technical assistance.  Ensure that branch efforts to implement evidence-based treatments and practices are coordinated in order to maximize efficiencies and training resources.

 

Responsible for the oversight, review, and approval of any, and all, research-informed interventions / evidenced-based services curricula being delivered by the department’s contracted or state providers to youth in the department’s care. This role includes the following activities: 
•    Collection and review of all research-informed interventions curriculum and methods of delivery.
•    Coordination with the Office of Research and Data, along with the Office of Health Services, to determine if research-informed interventions curricula are appropriate for youth in the department’s care.
•    Make recommendations to department executive leadership as to which research-informed interventions curricula should be listed in the department’s approved list of research-informed interventions. 
•    Receive additional research-informed interventions curricula being utilized by our contracted providers for review and approval.
•    Responding to numerous provider inquiries, meeting with individual providers to discuss revision to existing research-informed interventions curricula, and to notify the providers whether or not the research-informed interventions curricula they sent in for           review has been approved or denied. 
•    Maintain the department’s approved list of research-informed interventions.

 

Due to the nature of the position, some travel will be required.

 

This position also assists in the development of evidence-based program designs and Request for Proposals (RFPs) and participates in Invitation to Negotiate (ITN).; Serves as a technical advisor during procurement activities.

 

Attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and other initiatives related to professional development as authorized by management.

Ability to gather and organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

Ability to work independently and to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to assess training needs.

Ability to use desktop computers and the MS Office software suite.

Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable.  Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
