Government Operations Consultant II – 70901048

 

This advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Central Office in Transition Services (SIO).

 

Salary: $24.04 Hourly Rate

 

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform exploratory statistical analysis for each project, document file properties, and perform applicable statistical analysis or modeling.  Implement the methodologies in the form of written problem statements and hypotheses, statistical analysis of available data, generation of tables of results.  Present results to appropriate senior management and further refine the research methodology.
  • Acts as liaison between the Office of Programs and Re-Entry and the Bureau of Research & Data Analysis to obtain necessary data as needed.
  • Provides support and consulting services for Office and other staff. Provides training in data management. information analysis and information interpretation, including CDC, Impromptu and SAS data warehouses.
  • Develop and document an appropriate methodology for each project through the identification of pertinent measurement and data issues.  Develop research methodologies explaining how to conduct scientifically based analysis of specific issues.
  • Produce a complete report documenting the methodology, analytical techniques, results, and recommendations for each project. Including written conclusions, tables, and graphs to support the results and recommendations.
  • Identifies opportunities for sharing commonly used data within the agency and with outside data sources. Participates in interagency data coordination, including data sharing agreements.
  • Compile data from the Bureau's research files and other sources to produce specialized statistical reports and information to departmental personnel and other state, local and federal government agencies, legislative committees and members of the legislature, the public and other interested parties.
  • On technical issues and problems related to using, coding, and managing other technical software and programs, consults with staff to determine areas of concern and possible solutions. Plans and manages a consultative program that ensures data researched, processed, analyzed, and/or reported using or other technical software and programs are valid, reliable, accurate, and complete. Formulate internal procedures for file management and statistical analysis using specific Bureau research files.
  • Keep informed and updated on corrections and criminal justice areas that involve the department.
  • Prioritize multiple projects to ensure timely completion. 
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Life - FDC offers a $25,000 group term life insurance plan to eligible OPS staff through Securian at the low monthly premium of $3.78. When enrolled in basic life, employees may also elect child life and spouse life insurance plans.
  • Retirement - As an OPS employee, the Florida FICA Alternative Plan with Corebridge Financial affords you an excellent opportunity to help accumulate money for a secure retirement. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of data analysis experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI.
