What You Will Do

Hope Florida Is A Pathway To Prosperity , and in this rewarding position as an Outreach Specialist you will assist Hope Navigators in working with customers to identify and overcome barriers to economic self-sufficiency. This is accomplished by maintaining close relationships with the community stakeholders, strategic partners, and internal department staff.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • This is a highly responsible position assigned to report directly to the Program Administrator and requires expertise in social services including extensive knowledge of Community Services and resources.
  • POLICY AND PROCEDURES: Interprets, coordinates and communicates program policies and procedures developed by the State Program Office to Operations staff on a continuing basis concerning the Hope Florida program. Develops and communicates program policies and procedures specific to Hope Florida staff on a continuing basis. Compiles statistical reports and prepares correspondence as requested.
  • TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND CONSULTATION: Provides professional assistance and consultation to Hope Florida staff to resolve problems arising in program eligibility, service provision and policy implementation. Provides technical assistance and support to the Hope Florida team. Develops program information, data reports and analysis of process and performance information on a regular basis for distribution to staff regarding program objectives, policies, changes, etc. Assists in preparation of statistical and data analysis reports to the department; maintain familiarity and proficiency with statistical concepts as they relate to Hope Florida by case reviews, providing technical and assessment evaluations.
  • PROGRAM PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT AND COORDINATION: . Develops specific policy and procedures for special projects and programs. Assures identification and development of community resources for utilization by Hope Navigators. Assists in developing operational plans including Corrective Action Plans. Documents all pertinent information and ensures that all appropriate forms are completed and uploaded into the program's system for data tracking accurately and timely. Provides follow-up and monitors connections to service delivery via system. Prepares correspondence, case notes, narratives, technical reports, notifications, and related documents using computer-based applications.
  • TRAINING: Assesses, plans, develops, organizes, schedule, and delivers pre-service, in-service, and community training for the program and other training modules based on internal/external stakeholder needs.
  • Building and maintain relationships with respect, trust, sensitivity and confidentiality to customer, coworkers, community stakeholders, and partners to ensure the continued growth of the program.
  • Provides assistance on special projects as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent (4 years) of experience in customer service or social services. Experience in social services would include but is not limited to: experience in case management to include conducting participant assessments and/or providing crisis, AND
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Hope Navigator or conducting quality assurance reviews.

Additional Information/Requirements

  • The normal work schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
  • Incumbents are expected to work during emergency situations or natural disasters and may be required to work before, during and beyond normal work hours/days.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis; basic management principles and practices. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices; organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; conduct fact-finding research; utilize problem-solving techniques; ability to use computer and software required; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; communicate effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
