Paid Bi-Weekly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Applicant must have a valid Driver’s License.

One year of professional experience tracking expenditures and balancing funds.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyze and interpret data.

Ability to prepare various reports and statistical data.

Willing to travel as needed.

Successful completion of a Level 2 Background Screening, drug test and due diligence process.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to applicants with the following qualifications and experience:

Two (2) years of documented experience in working with capital improvement projects.

Three (3) years employment experience working for nursing homes or assisted living facilities.

Employment experience communicating with government entities, verbally and in writing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is a highly responsible position within the Homes Division of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

This position is in the Homes Division and is responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and execution of processes and systems to ensure positive outcomes in the State Veterans’ Homes.

Consult and advise on Life Safety, Building Codes and AHCA Construction Standards.
-
Maintains professional standards of care and ensures compliance with State, Federal and VA regulatory guidelines. Coordinate, facilitate, and advise on the Preventative Maintenance Program for the State Veterans Homes.

Consult and participate in the maintenance of physical plants and equipment to include inspecting and identifying equipment or machines in need of repair; troubleshooting issues to determine necessary repairs; and planning repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.

Maintain knowledge of Life Safety Codes, Building Codes and AHCA Construction Standards as required. Consult/Inspect the maintenance of physical plants and equipment. Audit/Review Life Safety Book, to ensure continued compliance.

Develop, plan and implement the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) processes and systems for State Veterans’ Homes; complete daily tracking of expenditures; reconcile fund balances; prepare CIP’s annual budget forms for submission with legislative budget requests.

Develop, plan, and implement processes and systems for the Operating Capital Outlay (OCO) expenditures; complete daily tracking of expenditures, reconcile fund balances, and report fund balance updates and requirements throughout the Fiscal year to ensure funds are appropriately spent and encumbered before funds expire.

Develop, plan, and implement processes and systems for the Deferred Maintenance Program and other funding programs as required; complete daily tracking of expenditures, reconcile fund balances, track project status; and prepare project status reports as needed. Coordinate and facilitate the Statewide Energy Management Program (SEMP) for the State Veterans Homes, review utility invoices; accurately and timely update/maintain monthly energy usage reports for each home; and prepare and submit yearly SEMP reports for each home by established deadline.

Serve as the FDVA Contract Manager for contracts as needed. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Travel required is required for this position to include extended overnight trips, up to 75% of the time.
