Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Gives directions to citizens, State Agencies and Architects on the proper use of the State Fire Marshal Plans Review Portal as it relates to registration and plans submittals. Prepares and maintains records in the Plans Review Software system for the timely distribution of invoices for plans review and reconciles payments received for plans review services.
Provides high-level administrative support to the Engineering Specialist IV Supervisor and staff by coordinating plans assignments to staff using the Plans Review Software. Maintains office supply inventory and makes recommendations for office supply orders for the section. Provides additional administrative support to the staff for other assigned responsibilities by coordinating meetings, gathering, arranging, and preparing materials for review, as well as taking and transcribing notes from those meetings, as necessary or required. Maintains appointment calendar using Microsoft Outlook Calendar. Responsible for proper handling of general correspondence, memorandums, and reports for the section. This is to include prioritizing, editing, creating, maintaining and/or coordination of simple letters to more complex documentation.
Receives incoming telephone calls on multi-line communications system and greets walk-in customers. Receives, opens, date stamps and distributes incoming mail and plans. Assists citizens, law enforcement agencies, other state agencies and the fire service regarding applicable Florida Statutes and State Fire Marshal Rules and Regulations, by providing basic information, and routing technical and other calls to the appropriate person.
