Primary Responsibilities
- Day-to-day PACS image workflow.
- Provide technical support.
- Immediate on-site support for day-to-day PACS/RIS issues.
- Timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system.
- Network transmission, RIS validation, and exceptions handling.
- Exam in PACS/RIS “clean up” for incorrect/error patient data and/or “unspecified exams”.
- Merge exams.
- Vendor support in all phases of installation and implementation of PACS.
- Train on RIS/PACS and the proper use of the system.
- Maintain/Assign user access codes.
- Assure accurate data transmission between voice recognition and EMR.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in radiologic technology.
- Two years of related experience in PACS/RIS support role with working knowledge of computer-based medical imaging applications, basic networking is required while advanced knowledge is preferred.
- Strong Health Level 7 (HL7) interface knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
