PTV EXECUTIVE PRODUCER SUBSTANCE ABUSE - LIMITED-SERVICE POSITION

Idaho Public Television is a PBS member station and Idaho's only statewide educational broadcast network. We are a state agency under the Idaho State Board of Education. Our nonprofit arm, The Friends of Idaho Public Television, Inc., provides private support for our content and educational content efforts and allows us to produce award-winning long form documentaries, quality public affairs journalism, podcasts, and educational events. LIMITED-SERVICE FUNDING

This is a Limited-Service position, and lengths of appointments are determined by the availability of funds and / or related time frames . Appointments to a Limited-Service position have permanent classified status after successful completion of entrance probation and shall receive, no later than the date of hire, a written agreement describing the specifics of the Limited-Service appointment.

E XAMPLES OF DUTIES

25 % of the time the Executive Producer Substance Abuse will :

Leadership, Administrative, Budgetary, & Supervisory Duties. Manages and oversees all aspects of the Substance Abuse program.
Project development, implementation , and consultation.
Plans and coordinates program development projects .
Develops project goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies and plans.
Analyzes each project's decision-making issues including identification of key stakeholders .
Measures and evaluations of communication program performance.
Consults with and provides problem solving assistance to staff on matters related to project activities.

25% of the time the Executive Producer Substance Abuse will :

Develop and implement strategies to encourage and obtain stakeholders and / or community support .

Identifies other agencies and organizations as project partners.

Identifies and coordinates with program committees and advisory groups to recommend projects - development and implementation .

Identifies available resources and provides consultation and assistance on program planning, development, and implementation techniques.

25% of the time the Executive Producer Substance Abuse will :

Coordinates publicity and development of news releases, graphics, brochures, pamphlets , and other materials.

May train and advise staff, project advocates and / or participants.

Plans, facilitates and conducts meetings.

Speaks before groups and works with individuals to promote public awareness and advocacy.

Produces content for broadcast, streaming and social media uses.

Conducting a television program and appearing as narrator, reporter, or interviewer; organizing and scheduling a production team on location.

25% of the time the Executive Producer Substance Abuse will :

Administers project budget and authorizes expenditures.

Prepares fiscal, narrative, and evaluative reports on project progress.

May identify and develop potential funding sources for projects.

May prepare applications or documentation to secure project funding implementation and needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

P rofessional experience in program management, project development, or leadership roles, preferably in media, public broadcasting, or nonprofit sectors. Typically gained by 3-5 or more years of work experience performing these tasks.

Marketing and communication practices or related field . Typically gained by 3-5 or more years of work experience performing th ese task s .

Proven ability to lead program development, including strategic planning, budget management, and performance evaluation. Typically gained by 3-5 or more years of work experience performing these tasks.

Experience supervising staff, assigning workloads, and making hiring decisions. Typically gained by 3-5 or more years of work experience performing these tasks.

Strong decision-making skills, with experience handling marketing strategies, program oversight, and day-to-day management tasks. Typically gained by 3-5 or more years of work experience performing these tasks.

Skill in developing project goals, work plans, and timelines. Typically gained 3-5 or more years or more years of work experience performing th e s e task s .

Experience coordinating publicity efforts and creating promotional materials. Typically gained 3-5 or more years or more years of work experience performing th e s e task s .

Experience managing project budgets, preparing reports, and securing funding. Typically gained by 3-5 or more years of work experience performing these tasks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. The equivalent of at least 5 years of work experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Ability to anticipate and plan for a program's future, especially in newly created roles.

Expertise in producing content for broadcast, streaming, and social media platforms.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilitie s.
