The Idaho Transportation Department currently has an opportunity for a Research Analyst, Principal at our Headquarters office in Boise, ID . The position's primary purpose will be to monitor / oversee contract research funded through ITD's Research Program to ensure methodologies are sound, data sets and data analysis are accurate, and research conclusions and recommendations are well supported. The position will also be responsible for working with staff to develop research project ideas and for developing, tracking, and preparing statistical reports detailing project and program performance against established measures. This position will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert for technical writing and formatting of research reports and manuals.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Coordinate development of research project ideas / research requests
- Researches and selects information systems / sources to be used for research.
- Identifies appropriate areas of research based on needs assessment or direction from management.
- Establishes methods and procedures to assure quality of data collected.
- Consults with officials of state and federal agencies and private entities to coordinate development and design of research projects.
Analysis of data and development of report of findings
Monitor / oversee contract research projects
