Position Marketing Statement
The Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) is accepting applications to fill the position of Public Service Administrator, Option 1, Assistant Human Resources Manager. The agency is seeking to hire a highly responsible, independent candidate with past experience working in the field of Human Resources. The Assistant Human Resources Manager will be tasked with a variety of administrative duties which include, but are not limited to, oversight of employee transactions related to the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), leaves of absence, employee timekeeping, benefits, and retirements. The ideal candidate also possesses a background in the leading and conducting of interviews and development of position descriptions. This position will also serve as an assistant to the agency Labor Administrator, providing support in various labor issues arising within the workplace. This position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a bureau records retention policy. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and possess the analytical skills necessary to guide them in making accurate and informed decisions in the best interests of the Human Resources and Special Projects Division and OSFM. As the Assistant Human Resources Manager and employee of the State of Illinois, the selected candidate will have access to state healthcare, benefits, and a pension plan.
