Essential Functions

  • Under administrative direction, serves as a Development and Testing Quality Assurance Lead for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR), facilitating the Quality Assurance (QA) process and supporting highly complex agency applications.
  • Develops processes and procedures to ensure the newly developed application meets quality standards.
  • Develops processes and procedures to ensure the IDOR document and payment processing applications and systems meet the quality standard with new development and enhancements.
  • Serves as project / team leader on highly complex projects while independently planning, developing, and implementing techniques for gathering and interpreting data.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science, or directly related fields.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.
  • Specialized Skills

  • Requires three (3) years professional experience with both automated and manual testing of systems and applications.
  • Requires three (3) years professional experience in design, development and testing using a Quality Assurance (QA) testing and tracking system.
  • Requires three (3) years professional experience in developing and managing Quality Assurance (QA)methodologies and KPI matrix for systems and applications.
  • Requires three (3) years professional experience in application testing and Quality Assurance (QA) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) preparation.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) three (3) years professional experience with both automated and manual testing of systems and applications.
  • Three (3) years professional experience in design, development and testing using a Quality Assurance (QA) testing and tracking system.
  • Three (3) years professional experience in developing and managing Quality Assurance (QA)methodologies and KPI matrix for systems and applications.
  • Three (3) years professional experience in application testing and Quality Assurance (QA) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) preparation.
  • Three (3) years professional experience working in a large IT organizational structure.
  • Three (3) years professional experience in integrated application testing and migration tracking.
  • Three (3) years professional experience in form digitalization process and procedure.
  • Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgement in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
  • Ability to provide leadership to lower-level application developers, including guidance, training, and direction in the development, maintenance, and support of applications and systems.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
