Position Overview
Under general supervision of the Clinical and Behavioral Services Director and under clinical supervision of the Chief Social Worker, administers professional social work services involving the application of social work principles and techniques in the evaluation, problem identification and treatment of adults manifesting complex emotional and psycho-social disorders. Determines and develops sources of information and services to facilitate client treatment.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages a highly specialized, complex caseload of individuals.
- Evaluates clinical problems of individuals.
- Develops treatment strategies and evaluates group, individual and family counseling sessions
- As part of a treatment team, identifies options for best practice treatment interventions in lieu of restraint/seclusion.
- Evaluates community provider services for future placement in light of needs of individuals.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a master's degree in social work from a recognized college or university supplemented by one year of professional social work experience in the evaluation and treatment/habilitation of mentally ill, developmentally disabled, or other disabled individuals.
This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires the ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law
Work Hours: M-F 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm one late day a week, 12pm-9:30pm & one weekend day every other month
