The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire a Support Service Worker for the Elgin Mental Health Center located in Elgin, Illinois to perform routine housekeeping and laundry duties on a residential program unit. Maintains unit equipment and furnishings. Maintains cleanliness of laundry equipment and laundry area, including walls, floors, ceilings, and windows. Maintains supplies of cleaning equipment, materials, and tools. Maintains laundry equipment and reports need for repairs to supervisor.

- Performs routine laundry duties on a residential program unit.
- Maintains unit equipment and furnishings.
- Maintains cleanliness of laundry equipment and laundry area, including walls, floors, ceilings, and windows.
- Maintains supplies of cleaning equipment, materials, and tools.
- Maintains laundry equipment and reports need for repairs to supervisor.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by six (6) months experience in the support service functional area to which assigned.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
