Job Description
The Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 1 Design team is looking for an engineering student to assist with the design and preparation of rehabilitation and repair plans. We are seeking a student with aspirations of a career in highway design who is ready for some hands on experience!
In this role, you will be working with the Assistant District Engineer (ADE) and the District Design Team to design and preparation of project plans for letting; preparation of project concept statements; and participating in field exams/ reviews.
Additionally, opportunities to participate in land survey functions of the District, attend project development meetings, and reviewing highway construction projects in the field are possible.
Duration : May-December; 40 hours/week
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Completion of at least two years in engineering at an accredited four-year college or university with eligibility for junior status upon return to school.
