Iowa Title Guaranty, a division of Iowa Finance Authority, is Iowa’s exclusive title coverage provider, offering lenders and owners low-cost title coverage for Iowa real property. Iowa Title Guaranty (ITG)’s mission is to operate a program that offers guaranties of real property titles to provide, act as an adjunct to the abstract-attorney’s title opinion system, serve as a low-cost mechanism to facilitate mortgage lender’s participation in the secondary market, and add to the integrity of Iowa’s land-title transfer system. ITG is entirely self-sustaining and all revenue in excess of adequate reserves and operating expenses is transferred to the Iowa Finance Authority to support affordable housing initiatives, such as down payment assistance programs for first time homebuyers.
ITG is seeking an undergraduate intern who has interest in real estate, contracts, and insurance. Prior experience in these areas is preferred, but not required for the position. Our interns will complete projects and gain experience in many areas including, but not limited to, real estate, title examination, underwriting, legal research, contract review, and claims. Successful candidates will gain knowledge of real estate transactional law. Interns will have the opportunity to learn Iowa's marketable title standards and to conduct research in real estate, insurance, and administrative law.
