THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE LOUISIANA SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
IN THE BUSINESS OFFICE.
The Budget Analyst is an Unclassified Position.
The incumbent of this position is responsible for the shared services business needs for the Special School District schools and programs with a high degree of complexity due to the five (5) day, 24-hour residential/school programs, the numerous types of employees, the wide variety of appropriated and non-appropriated funding sources and the four (4) program budget/appropriation structure.
LSD and LSVI share major operating divisions, containing work units with interacted missions; have budgets in excess of $25 million. Approximately 25% of the staff is Deaf/Hard of Hearing.

Three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Budget Analyst 2 by less complexity and number of variables in budget(s) prepared, reviewed, and monitored. Monitors and forecasts revenues and expenditures to identify trends and potential funding problems.
Prepares required reports and financial statements which include the compilation and analysis of data.
Proposes alternatives to spending and revisions in authorized budget.
Reviews, projects, reports, and proposes changes to performance indicators.
Prepares budget adjustment forms as necessary to draw or transfer funds.
Salary : $2,784 - $5,460
