What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensing Analyst position at State of Louisiana?
This Licensing Analyst 1/2/3 position is in our Licensure Division. This position reviews, studies and maintains working knowledge of Practice Acts, Rules and Regulations and State Statutes that regulate the licensing of all medical and allied health practitioners under the jurisdiction of the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. The selected candidate will be trained in the licensure and renewal process for all practitioners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.FUNCTION OF WORK:
To train in ensuring that licenses are issued, maintained or reinstated timely to all eligible and qualified persons regulated by a statewide regulatory Board.
OR
To train in effecting continuing education credentialing for licensees regulated by a statewide regulatory Board as well as continuing education for Board staff.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Entry.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Broad review from Licensing Analyst Supervisor or other administrative official.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May exercise functional supervision over clerical staff.
LOCATION OF WORK:
Any Louisiana licensing Board.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:.
Differs from Licensing Analyst 2 by lack of independence in performance of duties.Examines and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for licensure for accuracy, authenticity, and completeness of factual information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure.
Verifies credentials of licensees through written and/or personal contact with entities that include professional organizations, hospital administrators, health care entities, providers, other federal, state and local officials, general public, providers and other licensing and/or certification entities.
Communicates and cooperates with other Board divisions, federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, other federal and state agencies, and entities that include professional organizations, hospital administrators, health care entities, providers, other federal, state and local officials, general public, providers and other licensing and/or certification entities relative to status of licensees, compliance, statues, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures of the Board.
Reports data to national public and private central data bases.
