What are the responsibilities and job description for the WILDLIFE AND FISHERIES COMPLIANCE ANALYST A-C position at State of Louisiana?
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life.

This position is located in the Licensing Section within the Office of Management and Finance, which serves as the WLF Service Administrator for more than one million customers who register and title boats and motors, recreationally fish & hunt, commercially fish and use state lands for non-consumptive purposes, both in state and out of state. The incumbent of this position will issue hunting and fishing licenses, commercial licenses, register and title boats and motors, and collect related fees.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Examines and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for licensure for accuracy, authenticity and completeness of factual information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for boat registrations, inspections, decals permit and licensure as well as lifetime licenses, child support and unpaid fines.
- Serves as a first-line departmental customer service representative and provides information to the public in response to requests for information regarding license requirements and boats registration and titling.
- Researches records, makes requests and responds to requests for information to/from entities that include professional organizations, federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, other federal, state and local officials, general public and other licensing and/or certification entities relative to licenses, statues, rules and regulations and other public information.
The WLF Compliance Analyst position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and is advertised to be filled as a WLF Compliance Analyst A, B, or C. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
FUNCTION OF WORK:
To train to perform determinations and fee assessments in compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations related to the issuance of licenses, permits, tags, titles, and registrations for wildlife and fisheries activities.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from Wildlife and Fisheries Compliance Analyst B by the absence of independence in performing duties for the assigned area.

Under close supervision, examines and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for licensure for accuracy, authenticity and completeness of factual information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for boat registrations, inspections, decals permits and licensure.
Learns to interpret and apply federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures to the issuance of commercial and recreational fishing licensing, hunting licenses, permits, tags, boat and motor titles, and boat registration.
Interviews applicants to determine the type of license required, reviews documents for compliance, and determines eligibility of applicants with support from higher-level analysts.
Reviews title and/or registration requirements; issues licenses, titles and/or registrations in accordance with established requirements.
Provides established information to the general public through written correspondence, telephone communication and walk-in customer service. Refers complex requests to more experienced personnel.
May assist in providing instruction and assistance to license vendors regarding the resolution of system problems, license sales, reconciliation of ACH remittances and the issuance of tags.
Under close supervision, processes license revocation/suspension court orders from multiple judicial systems.
Learns how to determine overpayments and process refunds.
Determines and issues proper registration decals. Fills request for collector duck stamps. Sells oyster tags and advises of tagging requirements.
Acts as witness in lieu of notary public for duplication of registration certificates/decals and licenses.
