BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:  This position will promote the Landowner Relations Program through education, outreach, and enforcement to preserve Maine's tradition of outdoor recreation on private land; having the authority to act on behalf of the commissioner and command staff to create, foster, and maintain cooperation between Maine landowners and Maine's recreational land users. This is a specialized position administering a statewide program and serving as the primary coordinating point of service for the program.  This position will continue to perform investigative and protective services work involving the enforcement of Maine State laws, fish and wildlife conservation laws and rules, regulations, and other laws within the jurisdiction of the Maine Warden Service.  Position will be assigned a fixed duty location at a headquarters or substation based on operational needs. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – Active game warden with three (3) years’ experience

Hiring Process: The hiring process will consist of an interview in front of a hiring panel.  Interested candidates shall submit a detailed strategic plan outlining how they would implement primary job functions into a successful program.  This plan will be considered by hiring panel in addition to past performance and results of the promotional interview.
