Main Purpose of Job

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Teachers employed in state-operated school programs must obtain and maintain teaching certification in the State of Maryland, as mandated by�Education Article, Section 6-101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland�and�Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 13A.12.01.03B(2). Candidates recommended for appointment will be required to complete an�Authorization and Verification of Credentials�as part of the hiring process. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification are subject to�Substance Abuse Testing�as outlined in�Code of Maryland Regulation (COMAR) 17.04.09, which addresses the testing for illegal drug use. As part of the hiring process, applicants must consent to�State Police and Child Protective Services (CPS) investigations/background checks, which are standard procedures for all employees working in State Juvenile Services facilities.
