As part of the Maryland State Department of Education, the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world, vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce, and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland.

POSITION DUTIES
- Oversees the Enrichment Services program to ensure that departmental goals are met and that a high-quality delivery of services is maintained
- Actively engages with residents by utilizing the recreation hall and field trips into the community
- Develops, modifies, and implements department business practices related to enrichment
- Plans, coordinates, assigns, and evaluates work of subordinate staff
- Ensures that all Enrichment Services are provided in a safe, effective, efficient, and hygienic manner
- Serves as the Lead for the WTC Residential Services and the Division of Rehabilitation Services’ (DORS) security staff on the evening shift when serving in absence of supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional experience working with transitioning youth and/or adults with disabilities
- Experience planning and executing recreational activities
- Experience supervising staff
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is identified as emergency essential personnel and as such, this position requires the incumbent to report for work or remain at the work site to continue agency operations during an emergency situation.
- This position is primarily evening shift 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM Sunday - Thursday, but may be adjusted to cover other shifts and areas as needed.
- Employees in this classification will be required to provide the agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
- Applicants for this classification are subject to a criminal background investigation in accordance with the federal Family Law Article, Section 5.
- Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 06.01.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
- Candidates must consent to State Police Investigation (fingerprinting) as a routine procedure for all employees with this Agency.
