This position serves as the data steward for the Michigan Center for Data and Analytics (MCDA). The data steward will act as MCDA’s designated specialist to maximize administrative data usability for policy researchers. These datasets span a wide portfolio of MCDA data systems and products. The position will lead activities such as linking data across multiple data collections, managing and documenting MCDA data, and monitoring emerging information and reporting trends. This position is also responsible for recommending solutions to data issues and assisting in decision-making and policy setting. Following the guidance of the chief privacy officer, this position will monitor data access and usage to ensure compliance with federal and state statues. The data steward will also act as MCDA’s primary data stewardship liaison with state agencies and external research partners.

Position Location/Remote Office:  The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.  


Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
 
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

 Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications

Equivalent combinations of nonprofessional experience, identified by the appointing authority and approved by Civil Service that are represented by subclass codes, will be accepted for classified, professional experience equivalent to the P11-level and above. The nonprofessional experience must be related to departmental programs and services that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
 
Certain positions may be assigned subclass codes and individuals appointed must possess the required specialized experience.
